The Peripato Gardens constitute the loveliest botanical site in Taranto and represent a major accomplishment in the urban renewal rffort of the Comunal Government. After 20 years of slow decay and neglest, these lovely gardens that face the Mar Piccolo (" The Little Sea ") have been replanted.

It was in 1863 that the Beaumont family originally transformed existing botanical wonders into a luxurious villa that officially became public domain in 1913.

Palms and pines in full bloom now exhibit their seasonal and perennial colours, bushes and grassy knolls are juxtaposed in artistic symmetry, and ducks and geese give new life to the pond, bringing great joy to the children playng here
